Located in the Chichester State Forest on the east coast of New South Wales, Telegherry Forest Park is located around a twenty minute drive from the small town of Dungog. Telegherry Forest Park provides a great location for campers do some fishing in the small but picturesque Telegherry River, or just a great chance to get away from it all for the weekend.
Access
The Telegherry Forest Park camping ground is reasonably easy to access. From Dungog, take the Stroud Hill Road east, before taking the Monkerai Road north after around 3km. After 1.5km turn left onto Main Creek Road. This road continues onto Skimmings Gap Road, then turn left after around 14km right onto Frying Pan Road. Follow this road for around 7km until the T intersection. Turn left onto Middle Road until you hit the campsite approximately 1.5km from the turnoff. The road into the camping ground is a gravel road but can be accessed by a two wheel drive and caravan for the majority of the year.
Best Spot
The camping ground offers over fifty individual campsites. The campsites right along the river are generally the pick of the spots available.
Activities
The Telegherry Forest Park campground offers limited fishing in the Telegherry River. There is also space for ball games, but generally a spot to visit just to kick the feet up and relax.
Best Time To Go
Given the campground can get a bit boggy in wetter conditions, it is recommended that the campground is visited during the warmer months.
