Located at the magnificent Freycinet National Park, the River and Rocks camping ground provides a superb launching pad for a number of walks around the region. Whilst this campsite isn't as popular as the nearby Richardsons Beach campground, it is still close enough to the visitor centre to conduct your day trips.
The River and Rocks camping ground is reasonably easy to access. Head south for 19km from the A3/C302 junction via the River and Rocks Road then turn west. The 1km road into the campsite is a gravel road that can easily be accessed by a two wheel drive and caravan.
The camping ground offers around thirty individual campsites. The whole campsite is pretty sandy so grab the best spot available.
The boat ramp and Coles Bay make a great combination to launch a boat, do a bit of swimming, or fishing.
Best Time To Go
The proximity of the campground to the bay makes it more appropriate to visit this campsite in the warmer months.
