Located in the Mount Cole State Park in central Victoria, Richards camping ground is located in the heart of Mt Cole. Richards offers all the benefits of a camping ground in a state. The large rotunda and fire place entices a real community spirit amongst campers.
The Richards camping ground is located a few minutes drive from the small town of Raglan. The track into the camping ground is reasonable and can be accessed with a 2WD or caravan. When leaving Raglan, after approximately 6km the sealed road turns to gravel. 250m down this road take a left, following the Cave Hill Creek signs. Once on this track, follow the signs to Richards.
The campground offers around twenty individual campsites with ample shade and sunny spots. All the campsites are very similar and there is no individual site that is more appealing than any other.
Given the location of the Richards campground, it offers numerous activities. Activities available for campers include hiking, with the walk to Raglan falls the most popular. The area is also used heavily for 4WD enthusiasts.
Best Time To Go
There is no "best" time to visit Richards. The campground is good all year round as is not subject to flooding and the ground doesn't often get too hard given the extensive grass cover. It can however get very cold here in winter and can get very close to snowing.
