Located in the mighty Kosciuszko National Park in south eastern New South Wales, Jounama Creek is located a stones throw from the Jounama Pondage. Jounama Creek includes a great little freshwater creek flowing through it, and is not far from the picturesque Talbingo.
Access
The Jounama Creek camping ground is very easy to access. The camping ground is located 100m off the Snowy Mountains highway, with the turnoff directly opposite the Talbingo turnoff. The road into the camping ground is a gravel road but can easily be accessed by a two wheel drive and caravan.
Best Spot
The camping ground offers around forty individual campsites. Given the creek is subject to flooding at times, it is probably best not to camp too close to the creek in heavy rains. In dryer conditions, all spots are great.
Activities
Even though the freshwater creek flowing through the campground offers only limited fishing opportunities, the proximity to the Jounama Pondage and Blowering Reservoir offers a chance to hit the water for some big time fishing or water activities.
Best Time To Go
Given the campground is subject to flooding in wetter months, it is recommended that the campground is visited during the dryer months.
