Located in the Mount Canobolas State Recreation Area in central New South Wales, Federal Falls is located around a twenty minute drive from the popular town of Orange. Federal Falls offers access to around 7 walks within the area, with the highlight being the walk down to the falls.

Access

The Federal Falls camping ground is reasonably easy to access. From Orange, head west towards Canowindra, taking the turnoff south after approximately 8km on Canobolas road. Take a right at the tea house and keep going until you reach the campground. The road into the camping ground is a gravel road for around 3km but can easily be accessed by a two wheel drive and caravan. Please note that caravans can only access the camping area if the gates are open.

Best Spot

The camping ground offers around fifty individual campsites. The camping ground has a number of great spots but we believe the best spot is at the top of the hill.

Activities

Given the location of the Federal Falls campground, it offers numerous activities. Access to various hikes within the region are the campsites greatest attribute. The walk to the falls is well worth it. Gas BBQ's and picnic tables also add to the experience of camping here.

Best Time To Go

Given the altitude of the campground, the area can experience snow in colder conditions. As such, the warmer months would be preferable to visit the region.
