Located in the Mount Buangor State Park in central Victoria, Ditchfield Camp is located at the top of Mount Buangor. Ditchfield Camp offers all the benefits of a camping ground in a state park. The camping ground is very unique as it has a hut that allows for shelter from the harsh weather that is often encountered on top of the mountain.
The Ditchfield Camp camping ground is located approximately 500m from the Main Mount Cole Road. The track into the camping ground is quite good and can be accessed with a caravan. The track to the camping ground is quite well signed.
The campground offers over forty individual campsites with ample shade and sunny spots. All the campsites are very similar but the best spot is either next to the hut or inside the hut. The hut is quite large and can hold a number of people.
Given the location of the Ditchfield Camp campground, it offers numerous activities. Activities available for campers include numerous hikes and mountain
bike riding.The area is also very popular for 4WD enthusiasts.
Best Time To Go
There is no "best" time to visit Ditchfield Camp. The campground is good all year round given the extensive grass cover and the hut. The area can however get very cold during winter.
