Located in the heart of country New South Wales, Carcoar Dam is located around a two minute drive from the small town of Carcoar. Although the campground is located on the dam, dam activities such as swimming and fishing are prohibited. The area is however very picturesque and provides a great spot to camp. Showers also provide a nice luxury for campers.
The Carcoar Dam camping ground is very easy to access. The 2.3km Carcoar Dam sealed road can easily be accessed by a two wheel drive and caravan. The turnoff is well signed from the Mid Western Highway.
The camping ground offers over one hundred individual campsites. Such a large area provides plenty of great spots but we think that the best spot is on top of the hill near the tree.
As mentioned above, the dam cannot be used for drinking or any activities. Given the location in comparison to Carcoar, there is still plenty to do in the region.
Best Time To Go
There is no actual "Best Time" to visit this campground, however the region can get very windy at times.
