CAMP FIRTH PARK
NUMBER OF CAMPSITES: 100+
THE VIBE: 8.5
Located in the Wombat State Forest in central Victoria, Camp Firth Park is a short drive from the town of Trentham. Camp Firth Park is a dedicated and well maintained site with picnic tables, ample grass and a rotunda. Make sure you do the walk down to the Saw Mill.
The Camp Firth Park camping ground is located 5km from the main road, with the turnoff approximately a 1.5km drive from the Pig & Whistle Pub down O'Connell's Road. The track into the camping ground is well signed and is a very good gravel road that can be accessed with a 2WD and caravan.
The campground offers over 100 individual campsites with ample shade and sunny spots. All the campsites are very similar but the best spots are the flatter areas near the fire pits.
The Camp Firth Park campground offers numerous activities. Activities available for campers include fishing and swimming in the small lake, and a number of walks including the worthwhile 2.6hr return walk to
the Saw Mill. The site is also popular for scout groups and people with horses, given the horse corral.
Best Time To Go
There is no "best" time to visit Camp Firth Park. The campground is good all year round as is not subject to flooding and the ground doesn't often get too hard given the extensive grass cover.
