BAKERS SHAFT RESERVE
NUMBER OF CAMPSITES: 10-20
NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA
THE VIBE: 4
Located in the Central Tablelands Heritage Lands in central New South Wales, Bakers Shaft Reserve is located around a half hour drive from the popular town of Bathurst. Bakers Shaft Reserve offers all the benefits of a camping ground on a river, including swimming and fishing.
The Bakers Shaft Reserve camping ground is a little difficult to access and caravans are not recommended. The camping ground is located down Bakers road (leads into Junction Road) which is a 5km dirt road. The turnoff to this road is 10km north of Mandurama, west off the Mandurama- Burnt Yards Road. The road into the camping ground is behind a set of gates down a 500m rocky road. These gates are seasonal with no real indication of when they are open.
The camping ground offers around ten to twenty individual campsites. The best spot is to the left as you enter the campground.
The Bakers Shaft Reserve campground is located on the Belubula river. Activities available for campers include fishing and swimming in the river.
Best Time To Go
Given the access to the campground is restricted due to being located behind lockable gates, it is recommended that the campground is visited during the warmer months when the gates are open.
